For those of you who don’t know me or my family personally, Children’s Hospital of New Orleans holds a very special spot in our hearts. My little sister, Riley, knows the hallways of this hospital all too well. At an early age she was diagnosed with Spina Bifida. Since then, she has had 12 major surgeries with her most recent being February of 2020. My little sister is a walking miracle to our family and her doctors. We’ve spent countless days and nights in this hospital with my sister. She and my mom are two of the strongest people that I know. Riley and I are 10 years apart and I’ve never missed a surgery. I was there as a child coloring on the waiting room floor and grew up within those walls by her side. She’s my reason I give back!Riley’s last surgery left her with a lasting outcome of having to catheterize herself around the clock. She is a recent graduate of Loyola University and is now walking the halls of @childrenshospitalnola as a medical sales rep. Riley is now on the other side of surgeries and amazes us each and everyday.
For every Ornament sold, a monetary donation will be made directly to the hospital and will help provide an ornament for a child spending their Holiday while admitted in the hospital. It’s true that a small portion of proceeds from each set of Awareness Jammies sold will also be donated to them, but this was started long before and it’s something we look forward to! May it be a reminder to you that you made a difference year after year. Thank you for all of your support and motivation as we try to make the world a better place.
